The Bottenbergs are two Red Crossers who used their Red Cross training to save lives. Norm saved a man who collapsed in 1976 and Joyce saved her neighbor's life in 1981.

Sabrina Allen of Lake Charles, LA, is a single mother to two special-needs girls. While evacuated for #HurricaneLaura, Red Cross shelter workers helped Sabrina secure important supplies, like a hospital bed and lift.
“People I didn’t even know adopted my family,” she said.
“One of the most rewarding parts of disaster relief is taking the opportunity to talk to the evacuees."
