Only once before have we published a special front page in additional to the weekly newspaper. Until today. But it doesn’t get more urgent than the light of the uyghurs
@Nus_Ghani @MahmutRahima @lisanandy @TomTugendhat
Labour condemns the persecution of the Uyghur community in China.
We will be supporting amendments in Parliament today to ensure Britain never turns a blind eye to genocide.
We don’t call for resignations lightly, but the level of failure and incompetence we’ve seen from Gavin Williamson is of a magnitude that cannot be justified or excused.
If the Prime Minister had any judgement he’d sack him.
If Gavin Williamson had any shame he’d resign.
The Conservatives have chosen to cut support for families in the middle of a pandemic by slashing Universal Credit.
The UK has had the worst recession of any major economy on Boris Johnson’s watch – now he is making families pay the price.
Tomorrow, the Conservatives can do the right thing and vote with Labour to #CancelTheCut to Universal Credit.
Their cut will cost six million families £1,000 a year and push 200,000 children into poverty.
It's the worst possible time to strip support from families who need it.
They didn't even show up.
I've been helping at a South London foodbank, somewhere more and more families have had to turn to during this crisis.
Yet the Conservatives plan to cut Universal Credit - costing six million families £1,000 a year.
Today they can, and must, vote with Labour to #CancelTheCut.
Replying to @RachelReevesMP: This Tory government's irresponsible decision-making has caused the worst recession of any major economy.
The government’s mishandling of the pandemic gave the U.K. the worst recession of any major economy.
Now it plans to cut Universal Credit, bringing 500,000 more people into poverty.
Tory MPs must do the right thing by voting with Labour to #CancelTheCut
Today I call on all Conservative MPs to do the right thing and vote with Labour to #CancelTheCut to Universal Credit.
After the worst recession of any major economy, the Government should be supporting families through this crisis.
Instead it's hitting them in their pockets.
