When I took office, I promised help was on the way. Thanks to @SenSchumer and Senate Democrats, we've taken one more giant step forward in delivering on that promise.
I hope the American Rescue Plan receives a quick passage in the House so it can be sent to my desk to be signed.
Readout of The Department of Justice’s Efforts to Combat Hate Crimes Against Asian American and Pacific Island Communities
Hate of any kind is simply unacceptable. Right now, Asian Americans and Asian immigrants in our country are facing an increase in hate and violence. @POTUS and I are committed to working with the community to ensure all Americans are protected and respected.
.@POTUS and I urge the Senate to pass the American Rescue Plan. It will:
- Send $1,400 checks to those who need it most
- Create a national vaccination program
- Extend unemployment assistance
- Help small businesses
- Safely reopen schools
- Get Americans back to work
This week, team @OSUWexMed administered some of the first Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines -- the only single-dose shot authorized by the FDA.
We're working to ramp up its production because a third safe and effective vaccine means we can vaccinate more people more quickly.
A third safe and effective vaccine is here. Get your shot when it’s your turn. It will save lives.
Today, I am directing every state to prioritize educators for vaccination. We want every educator, school staff member, and child-care worker to receive at least one shot by the end of this month.
It’s time to treat in-person learning like the essential service that it is.
About 2.5 million women have been forced out of the workforce during the pandemic. The American Rescue Plan provides relief to women and families with $1,400 payments, a $3,000 child tax credit, and funding to safely reopen schools and child care. It’s time for the Senate to act.
There is dignity in all work. And when people can join together in unions, free from interference, every worker is more respected and protected. @POTUS and I support union workers and those working to unionize, in Alabama and across America.
A campaign for everyone who’s been knocked down or counted out.
A campaign that brought Americans together of every race, ethnicity, gender, economic station, and party.
A year ago, the people of South Carolina lifted that campaign on their shoulders.
Last week, the Biden-Harris Administration:
- Reached 50 million vaccinations
- Announced the shipment of 25 million masks
- Increased weekly vaccine supply to 14.5 million doses
- Opened vaccination sites across the country
We’re working hard to beat COVID-19.
The House has voted to pass the American Rescue Plan. This is a critical step towards getting relief to those who need it, getting people vaccinated, getting kids back to school, and getting Americans back to work. The Senate should take quick action to move the bill forward.
Yesterday, the 50 millionth vaccination was administered since @POTUS and I took office. This is weeks ahead of schedule and we are going to continue making progress every day. So keep wearing a mask, keep social distancing, and get vaccinated when it’s your turn.
I believe every American deserves the peace of mind that comes with quality, affordable health care. That’s why we opened a special health insurance enrollment period to ensure everyone can get covered. Head to to find the plan that works best for you.
Today I visited a Giant pharmacy in Washington D.C., where local residents are getting vaccinated. It’s one of more than 7,000 pharmacies administering millions of vaccines to Americans directly in their communities. We're making progress - when it's your turn, get vaccinated.
